About

As a licensed Clinical Psychologist, I bring a wealth of diverse experiences to my practice.

With an extensive background spanning nearly two decades, I have dedicated myself to working with both teens and adults in various capacities, including roles as a wilderness therapy guide, wilderness leadership instructor, high school teacher, and international educator. Through these roles, I have meticulously developed my skills as an educator, guide, and mentor, cultivating an understanding and appreciation for the intricacies of human relationships and interaction.

My academic journey led me to complete my doctoral training at the Wright Institute in Berkeley, California—a comprehensive program spanning six years. Throughout this period, I gained invaluable clinical experience in diverse settings, such as community mental health centers, elementary schools, college counseling, and private practice. This rigorous training has endowed me with a well-rounded and versatile skill set, enabling me to effectively address the unique needs of my patients.

In my therapeutic practice, I am trained as a generalist and adopt an integrative approach. The primary therapeutic modalities I employ include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with a focus on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Relational Psychodynamic Therapy, and Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP), along with Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and other somatic-based interventions.

As a generalist, I possess experience in addressing a diverse range of mental health presentations and challenges. I specialize in working with trauma, anxiety, and ADHD. Some of the common issues I address in my practice include:

  • Trauma/PTSD

  • ADHD

  • Anxiety, Panic Attacks, Stress, and OCD

  • Depression, Loneliness, and Bipolar Disorder

  • Grief and Loss

  • Relationship Challenges

  • Family/Sibling Conflict and Divorce

  • Social-Emotional Difficulties

  • LGBTQIA+ Issues

  • Life Transitions, Personal Discovery, and Growth

  • Addiction and Substance Use

  • Difficulties at School

  • Integration of Spiritual and Psychedelic Experiences

I firmly believe that a safe, respectful, and nurturing relationship between therapist and patient is paramount to the success of any healing process. In therapy, my aim is to strike a delicate balance between respecting the patient's pace and comfort level, while guiding them towards healing within a secure and supportive environment. Through collaborative efforts, we identify goals and construct an individualized treatment plan tailored to your needs, while respecting the time and financial resources invested in therapy.

I invite you to reach out and schedule a complimentary 20-minute phone consultation to determine if working together would be a good fit. Your well-being is my priority, and I look forward to the opportunity to support you on your journey toward healing and personal growth.
